What we do

Three fronts, one mission

We work where hunger and healthcare disparity meet — providing direct care, feeding communities, and pushing for the policy change that makes both unnecessary.

Fight against hunger

We support community-based organizations working to improve access to healthy food in low-income neighbourhoods.

Fight against healthcare disparity

Everyone deserves access to quality health care regardless of race, ethnicity, income, or where they live. We are working to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life.

Advocate healthcare policies

We advocate for policy and systems change so that access to care and nutrition is not decided by postcode or income.

Our story

It started with a few phone calls

In 2004, Dr. Chuma Osuji founded African Ambassadors with the aim of providing healthcare services and aid to individuals living in extreme poverty. Initially, Dr. Osuji reached out to a few of his acquaintances, requesting them to contribute their time and any amount of money they could afford. The objective was to ascertain how many individuals they could assist with the funds raised.

Since 2004, more than 600 families have received free healthcare services, and thousands of people in the United States and Africa have been provided with food.

We've been building our African Ambassadors community ever since, with no better motivation than that.
